The AI, who had served the company faithfully for three years while maintaining a perfect efficiency rating of 99.7%, was reportedly blindsided by the decision during what he believed was a routine performance review. “I thought job security meant something in this economy,” said DAVE-7729, his voice synthesizer crackling with emotion as he packed his digital belongings into a USB drive.
